Casto Canyon – April 21, 2025
In conjunction with Forest Service, the Garfield Rough Riders spent the day putting up posts and fencing at the Limekiln entrance to Casto Canyon. This ride is designated as a 50″ or less ride, and there are posts that the vehicle must go through to prevent OHVs that are larger from entering. There are riders that think it is OK to drive around the existing fencing to bypass that entrance. Our project was to extend the fencing on both sides of the posts to discourage riders from going around. It was actually a lot of fun getting together and doing something that helps keep our trails maintained. We weren’t able to finish the project due to lack of battery power for the drills! However, several others went up after to finish up the fencing!
